Criteria

A strong applicant will:

  • Be pursuing a post-secondary education. Both high school seniors and current undergraduate college students may apply.

  • Be able to demonstrate how being part of a community has shaped his or her values as well as speak to how those core values show up in day-to-day activities. Essay prompts are within the application.

Scholarship details:

  • Scholarship will be awarded one time per recipient and will be paid directly to the college or university.

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is suggested, but not a requirement.

  • A student may be pursuing a two- or four-year degree program.

  • Two $1500 awards will be given in Spring of 2022. Ideally, one will be awarded to a high school applicant and one for a college student, but the scholarship committee reserves the right to be responsive to the applicant pool.

  • Application will close on February 28, 2023. Award recipients will be notified by the end of March.

  • Once applications have been reviewed, the committee may select the top applicants (number to be decided) for interviews before the two finalists are notified.
